Hi John,
Thanks for the heads up. Please keep us informed on how things are developing with Coley and your input with the event planning. It sounds like the makings of a good event that we will consider for sure at our winter meeting.
Thanks John and good luck!

Good news, Craddock and the wig will be leading the federal forces for the event, It should be very much like picketts mill and Port Gibson only more men.

John,
That is great news. Both Pickett's Mill and Port Gibson were top rail events. I think we will be very interested in coming out for LFR.
Thanks John,
Tom

Also, I think you all could raise some money for the preservation aspect of the event, buy selling your hard tack. The event is not providing rations but will issue guidelines for the appropriate rations. Hardtack will be strongly encouraged . You all could either get people to subscribe and pay you up front for so many and get them at the event or just sell them at registration first come first serve. Either way I think you could make some money for gas and some for preservation.

Hi gents, As most of you have heard, LFR has been cancelled . It seems not everyone could agree on how the event was to be run and information being shared by the organizers was very scarce. I want to thank those who decided to register and go with us and the Wisconsin Company for this event. I hate to see the event cancelled, but I think Mr. Craddock had our best interests in mind. He has never failed us at other events and I seriously doubt he placed his ego above the men he was going to lead. Personally, I know I would have been terribly disappointed to attend an event as the 5th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry only to see it become an event with differing agendas, poor organization, and lack of respect toward the historical facts of the battle. From what I have gathered, that is where much friction has taken place. So gents I plan on donating my registration fee towards battlefield preservation. Perhaps we could work on a Living History here in the future as the 5th Wisconsin? Take care pards and perhaps we can look at an alternative event. Payne's Farm does not look bad. Tom
