One of the great additions to last year's North Freedom event was the Pioneer group that attended. These young lads (and their veteran sergeant) spent all day Saturday digging rifle pits and improving the works, despite the heat. Unfortunately, I have lost my contact information for this group.
Perchance one of them will happen upon this post and sent me a name and address for future contacts, and so that we can be sure that they know they are once again invited to attend North Freedom in 2002. Or, if anyone else has info, please pass it on.
Now, if those lads were to have children themselves, would the male children be the Sons of the Pioneers?
Mark Reitz.

Mark, After a long and frustrating log in process I have finnaly made it to the discussion forum.
The Pioneer group you are looking for is Venture Crew II. Fred Green 1-608-269-7597 and I, Pete Seielstad, captlacey@hotmail.com (1-608-269-8429) are the advisors for the Crew. We are looking forward to attending the North Freedom event again this year. We found this to be our most rewarding event last year.
Feel free to let us know what has to be done and we will do what we can. I believe Fred has already made a phone call to you. As he is e-mail incapable you can contact him through me, as we live cross town from each other.

Pete,
I did speak with Fred on the phone last week, and it sounds as if you will be participating at LaRue this year with even a few more able bodies. Your participation last year was amazing to watch. If you weren't volunteers, the child labor laws may prohibit what you are doing.
I am going to see if we can get a few logs brought down to the trestle and in that way you might be able to construct even more impressive works. (Hmmm, how about a covered bridge with blockhouses on each end?)
I know that amoung those I have spoken with, excitement for LaRue is building. I am looking forward to seeing you chums again.
Mark Reitz.
