Actually, Boyd Miles sells cheap camp hats. I suppose you could always buy one and reproduce it.
I will post the link to his site tomorrow. He sells smoking hats and night caps, both of which seem to fit under the criteria "camp hat."

My story is a little off topic, but it is a camp hat story. The 'best' camp hats of all time were produced by Don Rademacher's wife. I was at a spring muster event in Cooksville, one of the last events that Don attneded. He was, as usual, hawking his wares. Don had two camps hats for sale. One was a tam style hat, which he assured me was a one-of-a-kind item. He wife had produced the pattern, but so much work was involved that she didn't do any others. I really didn't want to buy two hats, but I ended up getting them both. I still have my 'flying monkey hat' and the tam camp hat. That fall, the 33rd fell in with the Mudsills at the last great Perryville event. We actually had our own company of Wisconsin boys. As we woke up on Saturday morning amidst the cow pasture, across the camp and out of the fog, Tom Rock starts yelling my way and swearing. At first I didn't know who he was directing his attention to, but it quickly became apparently he was yelling at me. As he got closer the vitriol intensified, and I could only guess at what I had done to tick Tom off. Tom walked up to me and screamed, wanting to know where I had gotten my tam style camp hat. I told him that I had bought it off of Rademacher. Tom then pulled the identical hat out of his pocket, laughing as he did so, and saying that Rademacher had sold him the exact same hat, all the time assuring Tom that it was a one of a kind style that had not been otherwise produced. ;D Both Tom and I had a good laugh about getting the same sales' spiel from Rademacher. I continue to wear the tam hat, and it is a nice hat. Other than Tom Rock, I have not seen anyone else wear that pattern. Mark Reitz.

The ONLY reason you have NOT seen that style other than Tom's, is because I use a differnt model Radamacker's wife made. I DO have that camp hat style in my clossette. Weed
