Chums,
I have heard rumblings that the Federal doublebag knapsack sold by Cedar Creek Supply is a rather faithful reproduction of an original in the proprietor's collection. This sutler is not generally known for high end wares, so I was curious as to whether or not any of the 33d had any information regarding this piece.
I have requested photographs of both the original and reproduction from Cedar Creek. Should I receive anything, I will make them available to the site at large.

Jim Lammers at cedar Creek makes high end knapsacks leathers and brogans, his Brogans were reviewed highly in the watchdog, I have his knapsack and two sets of leathers as well as his brogans and am very happy with them, he does sell some low end stuff out of his sutlery because and I quote him "that is what the Mainstreamers want" Jim Lammers is a super guy to deal with he hand sews all his leathers and brogans and Knapsacks he is sutlering for a living so he go's to a lot of mainstream events, when you sutler for a living you have to go to as many events as you can make, you cant go wrong with Cedar creek leathers or knapsacks or brogans Doug Potter

Thanks for the information. I did get a picture of their knapsack as requested and it looked pretty good from what I could tell. Funny thing is that I actually lucked out and found a Serio made knapsack on the secondary market at an amazing price, so problem solved.
I will consider him for leathers in the future.
Thanks,
-Tad
