Men of the Hard Head Mess: Fellow Rowdy Pard Bill Cross asked that I talk to you about the 140th Anniversary of McClellan's Occupation of Harrison's Landing at Berkeley Plantation, Virginia from July 19-21, 2002. We are portraying the 83rd Pennsylvania Volunteers as they appeared in July 1862 after the Seven Days battles. Berkeley Plantation was occupied by the Federal Army for five weeks following the Battle of Gaines Mill. At this point we have 62 paid and registered military and 13 paid and registered civilians. In fact we have a contingent of the Atlantic Guard Soldiers Aid Society (AGSAS) that will be traveling from Wisconsin to join us for this event. Please take a look at our website at http:www.geocities.com/berkeleyhundred and consider joining us where two US Presidents were born.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the invitation to the Berkeley Hundred Event in July. It certainly seems like a first rate experience in the making.
We will be getting together in mid June for an official Mess Meeting and can give you some feedback after our meeting. Unfortunately many of us who attended Recon 2 event can not make another trip out East in such short notice. Perhaps an event for 2003 if you are planning it again?
Our next out of state event for the Mess will be Perryville in October with our pards in the 33d Wisconsin. I wish I could go to this one but work has got me pinned down for the weekend.
