I would have to agree with Weed about the event. Although my only complaint was that you didn't have "Sailor Dave" dig his own sinks separate from those for the rest of us. After his graphic description of the effects of using hardtack as 19th c. laxative, I was scared to relieve myself.

I agree with everyone. You guys did a great job running the event. The rations were great, I had fun doing picket duty and going on the patrol was great!! I look forward to serving with you all again.

Gentlemen-
Thanks for the compliments. More importantly, thanks for your participation. Without that, there would have been no event.
Please continue to provide comments and suggestions.
Hopefully we will have the opportunity to have another event similar to this again someday.
Thanks, comrades!

I agree with Brad, thanks to the 33d Wisconsin for making this event a well-rounded experience for all!
Also thanks to our Confederate friends (Hogg Mess and 41st Virginia) who did give us some intense living history scenarios on Saturday. Hopefully next time we will not have to resort to capturing your rations and one of your enlisted soldiers of the 15th Alabama. I must admit, your first reconnaissance move was very clever.
I would be remiss if I did not mention those members of the HHM who really put a lot into the preparation of this outing. Brad Argue, Andy Voss, Matt Smith, and Scott Sonntag should be commended for the hours they put into making this event a reality. My dress hat is off to you gents.
Until the next grand adventure, I remain,
James G. Pierce 21st W.V. Co. "I"

We Minnesotans had a great time...it was well worth the drive. I'm sorry that we had to take a prisoner, but I thought that was the humane thing to do...he had his back to me and the only other alternative to a captured Johnny was a dead one Thanks again for all of the effort you guys put into the event. It was great fun. -Tad (aka George Dubois)
