Greetings Gents,
Just a reminder to all those falling in as the 21st Wisconsin, Company "I" ......
Please review Casey's Tactics especially focusing on the school of the soldier.
Also knowledge of Dom Dal Bello's Instructions for Guards and Pickets would be very helpful as well.
We also expect all rifle-muskets to be in good condition. Please take time now to insure your rifle-musket is fit for inspection. I know the NCO's will be stressing this at our living history so please take heed.
Information on rations, schedule, exact uniform requirements, and expectations should have been forwarded to all invited units. As expected, all uniform and equipage must be of proper pattern, construction, and materials. If you have any questions, you can refer to the Hard Head Mess Uniform & Equipage Standards available on the Hard Head Mess Website.
Non-commissioned officers for the event will be Matt Smith, Andrew Voss, and Brad Argue. They will also be in charge of the authenticity inspection prior to the start of the duty day.
If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail Matt, Andy, or Brad directly (they are all listed as members of the forum board) or myself at hhmtom@charter.net. I am looking forward to the position of private for the living history.
I have the honor to be, your obedient servant,
Tom Klas Hard Head Mess

Pards, Just as tom said, the NCO's for the event will be; Brad Argue, Matt Smith, and Myself. I will be the Seargent of the Guard, with Matt and Brad as my two corporals! Descitions in the field will be made by the three of us, with the ultimate authority being mine. Hopefully there will be no problems, but if some arise you can should talk first to your respective corporal, and he can allert me! I want to stress first person again, we are trying to create an environment that cators to 24 hour first person interations. So please try your best avoid breaking it! I know that the three of us are not perfect, and mistakes will be made! But since it is a first person event, please refrain from correcting any of the NCO's untill after the event is completed! At that time we would glady welcome your insights, and constructive criticms. Thanks Boys! I'll see you in the field! -Andy-

Chums,
The rather long drive that John and I will need to make from Minneapolis means that we will probably be pulling into the event on Friday night. Will there be anybody present? What are the start and stop times of the event?
Thanks,
-Tad
